An Osprey flew in from the SW at 1040, flew up the west side and hovered and dived several times off Sheepwash but didn't appear to catch anything, then headed off north. 2019-07-01 | 2 broods of Little Grebe: 2 large young beneath Hall Wood and the nest in Brown Ale Bay now has at least 2 fluffy little grebelets. 710 Canada Geese. 72 Greylag. 23 Mute Swan plus 1 cygnet. 1 Teal. 30 Cormorant. The second BhG nest on the BA Bay raft now has 3 small chicks. 1 rather bleached 1st-summer Common Gull and 2 Yellow-legs (sub-ad and 2nd-summer) at Sailing Club. 24 Swift. 2 Sand Martin. 2019-06-29 | 2 Little Egrets, adult and juv, around Stones. 4 Barnacle Geese at Millfields with 4 goslings still. The WLC Mute Swans are now down to 1 cygnet. Gadwall female with 9 half-grown ducklings at WLC, presumably the brood from Brown Ale Bay. Little Grebe still sitting in BA Bay. GCGrebes still sitting at WLC and Millfields island, but the Penn Carr nest has been flooded out. 1 Skylark on the dam wall.
