CBC Meeting Schedule for 2024/25 commences in September

All CBC indoor meetings are held in the ‘Henmore Room’ in Carsington Water’s main centre and they start at 19.30h. Entrance fee is £2.00 to members and £2.50 to guests – Parking is free.

11th May 2025 – annual songster’s walk, led by Simon Roddis, that aims to find and identify as many of our incoming migrants as possible, by sight but also by sound (which is where Simon’s expertise comes in).  We will be meeting at 9am outside the Visitor Centre and, from there, move onto and around Stones Island.

18th May 2025 – a little farther afield – but not too far – to the Derbyshire Wildlife Trust site at Drakelow, near Burton-on-Trent.  This site has a good variety of habitats so we should be able to see a fair number of species on the day.  We aim to meet at 10am, parking is inside the site entrance, which is on Walton Road (post code DE15 9TE, map ref SK 2239 2043).

For Severn Trent’s spring programme, it’s often sensible to book a place with the visitor centre (on 01629 540696).
