2017-06-26I have returned from holiday and have identified a bird I saw near the further bird hide I am 99 sure it was a Dartford Warbler. Many thanks, Jennifer for taking the time to send in your record of what you believe could have been a Dartford Warbler at Carsington Water on 17/06/2017. May I just say that Dartford Warblers are a very rare vagrant to Derbyshire and the occurence of such a bird at Carsington would be extremly unlikely. Have you considered Common Whitethroat which often sit out in the open akin to a Dartford Warbler? As this is such a rarity in Derbyshire it would need submitting to the Derbyshire Ornithological Society (DOS) to be considered for acceptance. Regards Dave Newcombe: Joint recorder for Carsington Bird Club. Dave Newcombe
