Spotted Flycatcher (finally!) in Middle Wood. 4 singing Pied Flycatchers (including 1 on Stones but no sign around the WLC) and 8 singing Redstarts. 12/05/2022 | A distant Osprey disappeared into the clouds over Millfields at 09:15. A Sanderling, 5 Dunlin and a Ringed Plover around Horseshoe island. 35 Swifts hawking over the res. 5 singing Reed Warblers (3 in Hopton reedbed, 1 on Stones, 1 at WLC). 11/05/2022 | A very wet morning which didn't produce the hoped-for influx of terns. Covering the site between us we got: drake Wigeon at WLC, 1 Curlew, 1 Dunlin, 1 Common Gull, 1 Common Tern, 2 Little Egret, 100 Sand martin, 30 Swallow, 50 House Martins over Stones, Long-tailed Tits with fledged young at Fishtail, 12 singing Willow Warblers, 53 Chiffchaffs, 42 Blackcaps, 10 Garden Warblers, 1 Common Whitethroat, 4 male Pied Flycatcher, 6 male Redstarts. 75 species between us. | BB,ASB,NJM,SJR,AHS |
