Locally it was 20&ordm;C on the 2<sup>nd<\/sup>. The rest of the month was generally mild but the first frost of the winter period occurred overnight on the 17-18<sup>th<\/sup>. The day temperature then dropped to 7&ordm;C but picked up again on the 21<sup>st<\/sup>. It was sunny most days until the end of the month.&nbsp; The mean temperature for England was 2&ordm;C above the 1971-2000 average.
