This end cottage has been completely renovated and offers very comfortable accommodation, nestling in the tiny hamlet of Godfrey Hole, it is set amidst the beautiful Derbyshire Dales countryside on the edge of the Peak District National Park. Some of the buildings are thought to date back to the mid 17th century and the cottage was originally a barn for the farmhouse next door. Built on the old London to Manchester turnpike, Godfrey Hole reputedly gained its name from ‘Sir Godfrey’ a notorious local highway man who once holed up in the neighbouring cave.
